WHAT TO KNOW

Pantelleria also called « the daughter of the wind » for an undeniable reason can be very windy. Ferries struggle to keep their time schedule but planes do much better! Also Pantelleria is not so small with a 84 km2 diameter and hundreds of kilometres of inland roads mapping it.

Pantelleria has a modern and very efficient National Airport, PNL. We highly recommend anyone coming on holidays to book a flight and not a ferry or aliscafo and follow these following advices . Ferries are very often cancelled or delayed due to heavy seas and because the island is 80miles away from the coast (even in the summer!). If that happen you will either have to reach the airport of Trapani (by taxi or bus) and may have to find a hotel and wait for the next departure which can be days with no precise notice.

Also note there are NO taxis services (as you are used to) at the airport. You must book a vehicle, a car, scooter (125 only), e-bike (Lovely experience) or a driver AS SOON AS you book your itinerary! Last minute organisation will not be rewarded especially in high season! As soon as you book your stay with us you receive an automatic email with all the informations necessary to organise your trip at your best!

HOW TO REACH US

Considering you can reach the island all year along daily via Palermo and Trapani, the island is not so isolated as it seems. From May or October more direct flights main italian airport : read below:

ALL YEAR ALONG FROM SICILY

DAT.DK flies all year along from PALERMO & TRAPANI Every day and twice a day ( Flat price between 60€ to 80€) and CATANIA on Thursdays and Sundays. In high season, an extra flight from CATANIA every days from Thursdays to Sundays.

HIGH SEASON DRIECT FROM ITALY’S MAIN AIRPORT

ITA-AIRWAYS connects the island on Saturdays, Sundays from MILANO LINATE - ROME FIUMICINO (June to October : check directly with the airline)

VOLOTEA AIRLINES connects Saturdays and Sundays only. BERGAMO - BOLOGNA - VERONA - VENEZIA (June to October : check directly with the airline)

Ferry is scheduled everyday except Thursdays and takes about 6 to 7 hours to reach the island. You can board a car in however bear in mind that all in all it will cost you much more to rent a car in Sicily, board it two times on the ferry back and forth than just rent a car here. Car rentals on the island are very affordable and the processed is simplified.

Departure from Trapani at 11.00pm (not Palermo) and arrives in the Porto di Pantelleria at around 6.30am the next day. Return from Pantelleria at 10.30 am arriving Trapani at 15.45PM . these are indicative informations that are obviously subject to change without out control.

Aliscafo liberty lines is a faster boat – 2H 30 journey – No vehicle is allowed on board - Available in high season only. Every day From June to end of September. It departs from Trapani at 1.40pm arrives at PN at 3.50pm
